Zafar Najmiddinov was born on May 2, 1977 in Namangan town of Uzbekistan. After completion of the school he went to Tashkent to study at the Institute of Oriental Studies. In 1999 he graduated from the Institute having specialized in Historical Religious Studies. In 2007 he defended his thesis on a Central Asian Hanafi jurist Abu Zayd Dabusi (d. 1038). 

Dr. Najmiddinov has published extensively on Uzbekistani scientific magazines:

Dr. Najmiddinov is currently working on his post-doctoral dissertation. As a part of the thesis, he has finished critical editions of two Central Asian Hanafi texts – Kirmani’s “Pearls of the fatwas” [Jawahir al-fatawa] and “Collection of the fatwas” [Majma’ al-fatawa] by unknown 13th century jurist. He is also interested in translation of English and German language Islamology literature into Uzbek language.
