Pepka Boyadjieva is the Chair of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Sociology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. A sociologist by training, Pepka Boyadjieva teaches sociology of education at the University of Sofia.
Her research and publications are in the fields of sociology of education, sociology of institutions, higher education sociology, sociology of science, and history of the university institution. She has been awarded Andrew Mellon Foundation Fellowships at the American Academy in Rome and at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities, University of Edinburgh. She is a Member of: the International Society for Intellectual History; the Research Committee in Sociology of Education, the International Sociological Association and the Editorial Board of Sociological Problems (a Journal of the Bulgarian Sociological Association and the Institute of Sociology at BAS).
