Free access to the online databases is possible in CAS Conference hall: Monday (13-17h), Tuesday (13-17h), Wednesday (9-13h), Thursday (9-13h) & Friday (13-17h).
The databases JSTOR, Encyclopedia Britannica Online, SAGE, Voprosy Istorii and History-E-Book are used without password. Access to the databases Questia, CEEOL and EBSCO is possible with User ID and passwords, which are entered by the librarian. CAS doesn't offer remote access to its fellows. Articles and materials from the databases can be saved on USB or send to e-mail address. The users have to bring with them their own CD-ROM or USB. It is not possible to print texts. Access to the databases is free of charge.
Questia is the first online library that provides 24/7 access to the world's largest online collection of books and journal articles in the humanities and social sciences, plus magazine and newspaper articles. You can search each and every word of all of the books and journal articles in the collection. You can read every title cover to cover. This rich, scholarly content -- selected by professional collection development librarians -- is not available elsewhere on the Internet. Undergraduate, high school, graduate students, and Internet users of all ages have found Questia to be an invaluable online resource. Anyone doing research or just interested in topics that touch on the humanities and social sciences will find titles of interest in Questia.
EBSCO
EBSCO host offers databases in the sphere of the Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as in Medicine. The working language of the database is English. The EBSCO host includes the Academic Search Premier database - the world's largest academic multi-disciplinary database. Academic Search Premier provides full text for nearly 4,650 serials, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. This database is updated on a daily basis via EBSCO host.
JSTOR
JSTOR offers both multidisciplinary and discipline-specific collections. These options are designed to provide flexibility for libraries and institutions to choose the sets of journals and collection growth paths that are most appropriate for their needs. Multidisciplinary Collections: The Arts & Sciences Collections represent the building blocks of a single interdisciplinary archive of over six hundred journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Each of the four core Arts & Sciences Collections introduces new academic disciplines into the archive. The Arts & Sciences Complement enables institutions to build upon these core collections, adding new journals in existing disciplines and cross-disciplinary fields over time. There are no overlaps (titles included in more than one collection) among the Arts & Sciences Collections.
ACLS Humanities E-Book
ACLS Humanities E-Book (HEB) is an online collection of nearly 2,800 books of high quality in the humanities, accessible through institutional and individual subscription. These titles are offered by the ACLS in collaboration with twenty learned societies, nearly 100 contributing publishers, and librarians at the University of Michigan's Scholarly Publishing Office. The result is an online, fully searchable collection of high-quality books in the Humanities, recommended and reviewed by scholars. These are works of major importance that remain vital to both scholars and advanced students, and are frequently cited in the literature.
Central and Eastern European Online Library
