Inauguration meeting of "The 30's Club"

03 December 2009

The inauguration meeting of "The 30's Club" discussion forum will be held in the conference hall of CAS’ newly-opened office on 3 December 2009, at 17.30h (Sofia, 7 Stefan Karadja Str., entr 3., Floor 2, apt. 23).

The series, initiated by Martin Ivanov (Institute for History, BAS) and Georgi Ganev (Centre for Liberal Strategies), will focus on the third decade of the 20th century, more precisely the years between the Great Depression and the establishment of the Communist regime in Bulgaria. The participants will analyse the events and attitudes in Bulgaria over the 1930's and early 1940's, with the expectation that the bringing together of expert surveys on the different dimensions - political, ideological, social, economic - of this very dynamic decade would add the necessary breadth and comprehensiveness to the discussion and the understanding of the topic.
