Dr. Svetla Baloutzova
Svetla Baloutzova
joined CAS Sofia in September 2007. She holds two MA degrees in English
Philology and German (Sofia University ‘St Kliment Ohridski’) and in
History (Central European University, Budapest). In 2005, she received
her doctoral degree in History from the University of Cambridge, UK.
Her research work centred on Legislation and State Policy towards the
Family and Children in Bulgaria, 1918-1944. Svetla’s academic interests
are in the field of social history, population studies and the history
of the European welfare state. She has participated in a number of
international conferences and has published in Bulgarian and
international academic journals and collections.
