Maria Falina is currently lecturer at the Lomonossov State University in Moscow and Ph.D. candidate of the Program in Comparative History of Central, Southeastern and Eastern Europe at the Central European University in Budapest.
She holds an MA in History from CEU, Budapest, and an MA in History from Lomonossov State University, Moscow. She was research fellow at the Institut für Europäische Geschichte, Mainz, Germany.
She has published studies on history of political ideas and political Orthodoxism in Serbia, most recently “Between ‘Clerical Fascism’ and Political Orthodoxy: Orthodox Christianity and Nationalism in Interwar Serbia” in: Totalitarian Movements & Political Religions, 8/2. Her main fields of interests are modern and contemporary European history, East- and Southeast European nationalism and Religious Studies.
